How Does PicoWay® Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Tattoo Removal?

What to Expect From PicoWay® Laser Tattoo Removal?

Is There Any Downtime?

What Results Can I Expect?

Not all laser tattoo removal procedures are created equal. What makes PicoWay® laser treatment stand above the rest is its cutting-edge technology. PicoWay® lasers deliver ultra-short picosecond pulses (one trillionth of a second) that shatter the targeted ink into very fine particles that are then naturally eliminated by the body.

These high-power pulses reach beneath the skin to remove even dark skin spots.

Each tattoo pigment has a different wavelength within the light spectrum. In order to effectively shatter the pigment, the laser must be attuned to the correct frequency. Most laser tattoo removal systems only have the ability to resonate with a few basic pigments. However, PicoWay® lasers have the advanced technology to treat even the most colorful tattoos effectively.

With our PicoWay® laser technology, almost anyone in good physical health is a candidate for tattoo removal. PicoWay® is FDA-approved for the removal of a wide range of tattoos and delivers superior results for different skin types with fewer treatments.

For optimal results, it is best to wait a minimum of six weeks after having a tattoo before beginning the laser tattoo removal process. If you are pregnant or nursing, we advise you to wait before beginning PicoWay® laser treatments.

Before beginning your treatment, we will test your skin’s reaction to the laser to ensure the most effective treatment. Because PicoWay®’s ultra-short pulses optimize energy delivery to the targeted pigment, only a small amount of heat is transferred to your skin. This reduces the risk of damage to your skin and minimizes your discomfort throughout the procedure.  The length of your individual treatments will depend on the size and location of the tattoo and your comfort level.

No downtime is typically required following the procedure. An ointment and bandage are applied to the treated area, and most can safely return to work.  However, strenuous activity, swimming pools, hot tubs, and sunbathing are not recommended following this treatment. During the initial days following laser tattoo removal, you are advised to avoid rubbing, picking, or using abrasive skin cleansers on the area. Healing can take anywhere from three to ten days.

The effectiveness of PicoWay® laser treatments depends on several factors, including the location of the tattoo, size, depth, and type of pigment used. Most tattoos will require several treatments for the best results, whereas others – such as eyebrow tattoos – may be resolved with just one to three treatments.

Picoway is the best way to fade or completely remove an unwanted tattoo. You will no longer have to worry about hiding your tattoo and living with tattoo regret.
