Dermal Fillers

We offer two types of dermal fillers: Belotero® and Restylane®. They both consist of hyaluronic acid, a material that gives young skin its smoothness and fullness.

By replenishing the skin’s natural hyaluronic acid supply, dermal fillers revitalize the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and leaving it with a softer look.

Not all dermal fillers have the same texture, so some work more effectively in certain areas than others. We offer a full range of options so we can choose the best filler for your particular concerns.

Because hyaluronic acid already exists naturally in the body, almost anyone can receive dermal fillers. Individuals with bleeding or clotting problems should consult with their provider. Also, let your provider know if you have a history of severe allergic reactions.

Belotero® and Restylane® are injected under the skin. The injections contain lidocaine, which numbs the area and relieves any discomfort. The number of injections needed depends on the individual’s unique concerns. The amount of time for treatment also varies.

Belotero® works well for deeper lines and wrinkles. It has a firmer texture for more lifting and filling. Restylane® may be more suitable for work around the eyes and mouth, as well as for lip contouring. It has a softer formula ideal for working in these areas.

You can resume most activities without any downtime. However, you should avoid strenuous activity, drinking alcohol, or taking NSAID medications such as aspirin for 24 hours.

Temporary side effects include redness, swelling, and bruising in the injection area. These will fade within a few days.

You will see an immediate improvement in your lines and wrinkles. This will continue to improve over the next week. Skin in the treatment area will appear more contoured, and lines and wrinkles will be lifted and filled out.

The hyaluronic acid dermal fillers remain under the skin until the body removes them. Results may last up to twelve months, but this depends on the individual and the areas of the face treated.
