Laser Tattoo Removal

Before beginning your treatment, we will test your skin’s reaction to the laser to ensure the most effective treatment. Because PicoWay®’s ultra-short pulses optimize energy delivery to the targeted pigment, only a small amount of heat is transferred to your skin. This reduces the risk of damage to your skin and minimizes your discomfort throughout the procedure.  The length of your individual treatments will depend on the size and location of the tattoo and your comfort level.

No downtime is typically required following the procedure. An ointment and bandage are applied to the treated area, and most can safely return to work.  However, strenuous activity, swimming pools, hot tubs, and sunbathing are not recommended following this treatment. During the initial days following laser tattoo removal, you are advised to avoid rubbing, picking, or using abrasive skin cleansers on the area. Healing can take anywhere from three to ten days.

The effectiveness of PicoWay® laser treatments depends on several factors, including the location of the tattoo, size, depth, and type of pigment used. Most tattoos will require several treatments for the best results, whereas others – such as eyebrow tattoos – may be resolved with just one to three treatments.
